The power of self talk.

Take your attention to the words you use for yourself. ‘I’m such a klutz’, ‘I am a fool’ and so on. Ask yourself if you would ever say things like that to someone else?

In the doggie world we are substituting ‘you’re a bad dog’ with ‘you are a dog who does naughty things’. It applies to us as well. We are not bad people certainly not perfect and sometimes we do slightly naughty things and sometimes we make mistakes. Don’t berate yourself, just tell yourself that now you know how to handle the situation next time. You learnt and that’s good enough.

Try and use kinder, gentler words with yourself and you will feel better for it. ‘You weren’t mean – you just did a not so nice thing and next time you’ll do differently’
