Should I go or should I stay?

Looks like it’s going to be an interesting day today.  The only way I can read these two cards together is ‘should I stay or should I go?’. This can be a big life question – should I leave this job or should I leave this relationship? It can also be the small stuff that happens in a day – there’s a queue at the checkout, should I wait or go to another store. Someone is terribly late for the meeting – wait or leave?

Although the two of pentacles thinks that you can juggle both, the six of swords clearly thinks you should go. The 2 says, weigh all options before taking any decision. The 6 says, decide now. Both talk about movement or a journey away from. As always, with the little and big life decisions, listen to the advice from the cards and then follow your intuition :).

The 2 of Pentacles reminds you that life is all about balance. It’s balancing work and relationships, of thinking and doing. This is a natural balance – an equilibrium that should happen naturally. If we veer too much towards one, the other will show signs of distress. And if we don’t take care of it, it will only get worse. Work is important and so is play. All play is not good for the soul neither is all work. Our insides are designed to hold this balance and we are at our best when the balance is maintained.

If this brings you to a place where you are wondering whether the job you hold will ever bring you this balance – then that is exactly what you should be thinking about. Sometimes it’s not about leaving the job but about you negotiating a better place for yourself. That better place starts with you putting your stake in the ground. This is where the six of pentacles comes in. The six says, either find your balance or leave this place, situation or person because it is no longer healthy for you to be here.

The same goes for our relationships, our emotions and our actions. It is unnatural to be in a state of joy all the time, you must give grief it’s due place and if you have been grieving for some time now, it’s time to shake off that sadness and let some happy enter your life. It is time to move on, to leave behind the things that aren’t working and even though the future is unclear, it is a step in the right direction.

In relationships as well, is the balance tilted in one person’s favour and what are you doing to bring it back to balance? Is there too much giving and not enough receiving? Are you doing too much and not ‘being’ enough?

Stay if you must. Go if you can. There are never any wrong decisions, only different paths to the same destination.
